A MODERN VERSION OF THIS PIECE:

"Till the End of Time" sung by Perry Como

The polonaise is an imposing, stately, slow Polish processional stately folk dance performed by couples
who walk around the dance hall very much like a march but it is written in a 3/4 meter instead of 4/4.

The accent comes on the first beat, the first step of the dance being a long, sweeping one.
Each polonaise of Chopin's is a poem in its own right;
each a different one, and each must be treated differently.
